Fujimiyaki Tile Works, Japan

This antique, circa late-Victorian majolica tile is by the famous Fujimiyaki (FM) Tileworks of Japan (still in existence today). Rich, glossy glaze in clear, gem-like shades is highlighted by a brilliant, deep turquoise. It’s rare to find vintage Japanese tiles in this country, let alone examples of this period from such a famous maker.
