Catalina Island Pottery, Avalon, CA 1927-1937

Catalina pieces made with red clay were made until 1932, when the island clay was depleted.   This lovely matte green vase, made with red clay, has a band of rings around the middle section.  Chunky and sturdy, with uneven coverage of the glaze creating an interesting effect.

Excellent condition; signed.  Minor glaze pops from the kiln.
