Claycraft Potteries, Los Angeles, CA  1921-1939

Here is an outstanding example of tile work from California’s golden era.    A rural country setting is depicted, featuring a thatched-roof cottage with castle in the background.   Abundant with details, the tile is self framed and has several matte glaze colors.    The image is on the cover of  the book:  “The Arts and Crafts Movement in California.”   Also on page 88 – see photos.    Signed, never set.
