After many delays and much hard work, we are finally open in our new location.   Our sign is not up yet but come on in!   Scott and Nancy will be taking a vacation to the Boston area from August 13-29, but someone will be tending the store.   Many thanks for our loyal customers – we appreciate you as well as anyone coming in for the first time.

WE HAVE MOVED OUR ECHO PARK STORE!     We are sorry to leave Echo Park where Wells Antiques has had stores for the last 23 years.    The new location is larger and closer to downtown in the Westlake District.   We anticipate reopening towards the end of June 2016.   Eric’s Architectural Salvage is moving with us so we are happy to continue the partnership with Wanda and Eric Ramos.   New address:   1540 W. 6th Street, Los Angeles 90017, near the corner of Union.  Our phone number will remain the same.   We appreciate your patience during the move – it has been a tremendous undertaking!

We will have a table set up with Arts & Craft items to buy.

Recently we acquired a HUGE collection of vintage Garden City Pottery.  It all came from one source in Northern California.   Some of it will be listed here on our site but there is too much to list them all.  Contact us if you’re looking for something specific.

We have super exciting news….Wells Antique Tiles & Pottery,  and Eric Ramos’s Architectural Salvage have joined together and moved to a new location!!  with 8000 sq ft on two levels, we are expanding, reinventing and rejuvenating our retail experience.  Our new address is just one block east, at 2110 West Sunset Boulevard (the former La Popular site), near the corner of Alvarado.

With the addition of Eric’s fantastic selection of architectural salvage including vintage lighting, antique building elements, period hardware and plumbing, our new location promises to be the perfect one-stop shopping destination for antique enthusiasts, interior designers, architects, landscape artists and contractors.

We are now open an extra day, from Tuesday thru Saturday, 11am-5:30pm and parking is available in the lot next to the building at Lucy’s!

NEW!    THE NORMAN KARLSON COLLECTION!

Wells Antiques has acquired a large inventory of tiles from a world class collection!

We are proud to announce that we have added a rich collection of art tiles amassed over the long and celebrated career of noted dealer and author Norman Karlson.  Owing to the truly museum-class breadth of this collection, we now have a large selection of European tiles as well as many more tiles from various noted East Coast and Midwestern makers.  For lovers of 19th century tiles, we now have arguably more Victorian, Art Nouveau, Aesthetic Movement and transfer tile stock than any other dealer in the country.   A significant percentage of the tiles are depicted in Mr.Karlson’s authoritative, four-volume set “The Encyclopedia of American Art Tiles.”  Many of these tiles have a label on the reverse depicting the illustration number from these volumes.

New Services

We are now working with the best contemporary tile makers in the area to offer our customers an alternative to antique tiles. Because of the difficulty finding large quantities of vintage tiles, we want to give you an opportunity to create copies of the old designs for larger projects, such as fireplaces, fountains, scenic panels, flooring etc. Whether you are looking for high-quality field tiles, reproductions of antique tiles, vintage-like pottery Wells Antiques is the place to shop!
