Pewabic Vintage Luster Vessel

Here is an early piece signed by Ira and Ella of Pewabic.   Wonderful metallic luster glazing has tones of copper, gold and grays.   A beautiful piece for any collector.

Ira Justin Peters 1896-1986) worked as one of the last old time employees of the pottery.  His wife Ella (1901-1994) was the personal secretary and assistant to Pewabic Pottery founder Mary Chase Stratton from 1938 until Stratton’s passing in 1963. She stayed on and managed the pottery until 1969 – Ella and Ira utilized Pewabic shapes and glaze formulas in their works.
