Trent Tile Company, Trenton, NJ  1882-1939

Here is a pair of beautiful, vintage Trent majolica art tiles.  These molded relief tiles depict two, elegantly attired court musicians of the Elizabethan era.  The rich, bright, crackled glaze in a gorgeous gray-green pools into a deep jade green in the recesses.  The design and modeling is of the superlative quality for which these highly collectible tiles are famous.  Naturally, these tiles would look stunning in a Victorian setting, but  with some imagination and creativity, they could blend harmoniously in a mid-century modern or traditional setting.  Pieces of this level of quality and artistry are timeless.   See these in Norman Karlson’s Encyclopedia of American Art Tiles, Region 2, page 182.  Sold separately or as a pair.
