A pretty floral and leaf motif covers this tile from Northern California and made under the direction of Frederick Hurten Rhead. Arequipa Pottery, named after a Peruvian city and meaning ‘place of peace’, was created to teach ceramics to patients at the sanitarium for young ladies. This is a raised-line tile with 5 matte glazes and very rare.
