Moravian Pottery & Tile Works, Doylestown, PA  1898-present

The face of an owl is a delightful subject on this vintage Moravian tile.   Deeply molded with matte and satiny glazes.   This tile was photographed and appears in Norman Karlson’s Encyclopedia of American Art Tiles, Region 2, page 222.

4″ sq 1/2″ thick

Good condition; has some wear.   The chipped corner happened before it was fired in the kiln; as it is covered with glaze.
