Abingdon Art Pottery, Abingdon, IL  1934-1950

This glossy vintage relief tile depicts a seated Asian man in traditional garb with a background of crisply modeled bamboo.  
It was produced from the same high-grade porcelain developed during this firm’s genesis from a company that sold plumbing fixtures to a noted art pottery.  Incised on back 401.
