Franklin Tile Company, Lansdale, PA  1923-1935

Excellent color separation is evident on this cuenca (raised line) tile from Franklin.  Soft pale glazes have a combination of matte and glossy finishes.   At some point, a felt backing was added, as well as four ‘legs’ creating a tile trivet or coaster.   The tulip motif is reminiscent of Pennsylvania Dutch designs.
