Arequipa Pottery, Fairfax, CA  1911-1918

This small pottery started as therapy for tuberculosis patients in a sanitarium and had employed such skilled ceramists as Frederick H. Rhead and Louis M. Solon.  Many pieces were hand thrown and had outstanding glazes.  This large bowl has a soft shade of lilac/blue glazing with clay showing thru.   A stunning piece to add to any collection.
