Western Art Tile Co., Glendale, CA  1904-1910

This is an impressive vintage relief tile with a trapezoidal shape that complements the intricate, Mayan-inspired design.  This thick, red clay tile, with its obviously excellent quality and refined technique, is glazed in a matte chocolate. The back is marked with an incised “Western Quarry Tile Co.”, which we believe is one of the several tile companies that operated in the same location.
