Newcomb Pottery, also called Newcomb College Pottery, was a brand of AmericanArts & Craftspottery produced from 1895 to 1940. The company grew out of the pottery program atH. Sophie Newcomb Memorial College, the women's college now associated withTulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Great Arts & Crafts vintage vase has a simple shape with matte green glazing. Ceramist Joseph Meyer, was hired in 1888 and designed this piece. Measures 6 1/2" tall with 3" top opening and base. Very good condition; minor surface marks. Has a teeny chip on bottom edge-see photo.
