Designer George Cartlidge was responsible for the photographic portrait tiles made by this company, as well as the large number of majolica tiles that the company produced.   Sherwin & Cotton had a reputation for consistently high-quality tiles.    Here is a pair of English gentlemen.   Notice the attention to detail in their clothing and background images.   Tiles have crazing.   There is some lighting reflections on the photos - not chips.    Sold separately.
