Spanish Pottery & Tile Moorish Foliate Design Tile

$100.00

Spanish Pottery & Tile, Los Angeles, CA  1920-1930

Examples from this pottery are rare.   It is thought that this company was established in order to supply most of the tiles used to build the legendary Scottie's Castle in Death Valley.  This is a stunning example of a robust, depression glazed tile.  The Moorish-inspired acanthus-leaf design is decorated with a beautiful combination of bright goldenrod and vellum sage glazes against a matte, rich terra cotta unglazed ground.
